The issues of voter IDs, advance voting, and electronic voting have been particularly contentious ones in the last few years, with many Republicans wanting to do away with some or all of them.
On election day 2020, a "glitch" in the software of the electronic voting equipment reportedly saw 6,000 votes switched from Republican to Democrat in Antrim County, Michigan. Similar glitches in the software were reported in Georgia, which galvanized the state into passing a voting reform bill the following year.
The ability to vote in advance using mail-in ballots has been a particularly controversial issue, with Marjorie Taylor Greene just recently declaring the practice "the biggest problem in our elections," stating that it will be a "major factor going forward into 2024."
Voter ID laws vary tremendously by state, with some states not requiring them at all, while others apply very strict rules regarding their use. Democrats have made claims that voter ID laws are ushering in a modern-day Jim Crow era.
With recent polls stating that the majority of Americans, including the majority of Democrats, are in favor of voter ID laws, this could prove to be a winning formula for Trump, though it remains uncertain how much of a change his government will be able to make when the time comes.
