White House grilled on whether Biden did favors for his son’s international business partners
“I’ve seen the report. I have no confirmation or comments on a report about whether or not the President, when he was a private citizen, wrote a college recommendation letter for an individual.”
In Wednesday’s White House press conference, Press Secretary Jen Psaki was grilled on whether it was commonplace for President Joe Biden to do favors for his son’s international business partners.
"Was it common for President Biden to do favors for Hunter Biden's international business partners like writing college recommendations for their kids?" Peter Doocy of Fox News asked.

"I’ve seen the report. I have no confirmation or comments on a report about whether or not the President, when he was a private citizen, wrote a college recommendation letter for an individual," Psaki responded.
"A college recommendation letter, though, from, at the time, a former vice president would be a big deal. So do we know what President might have gotten in return for doing a favor like that?" Doocy pressed.
"Again, I have no confirmation of any recommendation letter the President wrote when he was a private citizen, by the way, not serving in public office. That's even the report," said Psaki.
Doocy continued on to question reports that the President was at one point office mates with his son, Hunter, and his brother, Jim.
"So there's evidence that the President at one point was office mates with Hunter and his brother Jim here in DC," said Doocy.
Psaki responded that the report is not correct, to which Doocy said, "So when Hunter Biden's emailing a landlord, 'please have keys made available for new officemates, Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Jim Biden,' that — you're disputing?"
"They were not officemates, no," said Psaki.
It was recently revealed that Biden wrote a college recommendation letter for the son of a Chinese executive who worked with Hunter Biden.
The letter, written in 2017, was sent via email between Hunter Biden and his business associates who were associated with the joint venture between Rosemont Seneca and the Chinese investment firms Bohai Capital and BHR.
Fox News reported that "In an email dated Jan. 3, 2017, and sent to Hunter Biden and his business associates Devon Archer and Jim Bolger, CEO of BHR Jonathan Li writes: "Gentlmen[sic], please find the attached resume of my son, Chris Li. He is applying the following colleges for this year." He lists Brown, Cornell, and New York University.
A later email from Li reveals that the letter was obtained by the school, though that letter has yet to be seen publicly.
