Nine people were injured on Memorial Day after an altercation between two groups ended in gunfire near Hollywood, Florida’s beach boardwalk. One suspect is in custody while police have undertaken a search for another.

Police arrived at the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk just before 6:45 pm on Monday to a call stating that multiple people had been shot near Johnson Street, according to Fox News.

Officers administered first aid at the scene, with the nine injured people, including four children, being taken to Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Memorial Healthcare System spokesperson Yanet Obarrio Sanchez said on Tuesday morning that all the victims were in stable condition.

Video from the scene showed beachgoers fleeing as shots rang out.

"Thank you to the good Samaritans, paramedics, police and emergency room doctors and nurses for their immediate response to aid the victims of today’s shooting," Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy said in a statement.

Deanna Bettineshi, a spokeswoman for Hollywood Police, said that four children were shot, including a 17-year-old. Five adults, ranging in age between 25 and 65, were also shot.

She said that the shooting occurred after an altercation between two groups.

One suspect has been arrested while another remains at large. Police are looking for a black male with dreadlocks who was last seen wearing camo shorts and a black, short sleeve shirt.

Police Chief Chris O’Brien said Memorial Day saw thousands of people come to the area, saying that the shooting was "unfortunate."

"It’s unfortunate we have law-abiding citizens who come to our beaches and that gets interrupted by a group of criminals," he said.

Black male, eh? How shocking.

Now what sounds like gang/thug violence (altercation between 2 groups) becomes a mass shooting. Seems like they are prepping the narrative.
