Seattle's LGBTQ Commission is leading the initiative, which stems from the advisory group's allegations that the city has been suffering from a "trans relocation crisis."
Seattle taxpayers will now have to pay for the cosmetic and elective surgeries of transgender people who have relocated to the city. This includes breast implants and "facial feminization surgeries," the Daily Mail reported. Funds will also be provided for their food and housing.
Seattle's LGBTQ Commission is leading the initiative, which stems from the advisory group's allegations that the city has been suffering from a "trans relocation crisis." The commission urged Mayor Wilson, a socialist, to declare a state of emergency over the alleged crisis in late May.
It is uncertain how much taxpayer funds will be allocated for the so-called trans relocation crisis. However, this comes at a time when Seattle is facing an estimated $175 million budget deficit, as well as a significant exodus of wealthy business owners and businesses departing the state due to new high taxes.
The move follows a May 23 protest spearheaded by the LGBTQ Commission and trans-activist groups, including the Antifa-affiliated Moto Hooligans. Demonstrators demanded Mayor Wilson fork over taxpayer funds to support not only the transgender people who relocated, but also the trans activists who claimed that helping the "refugees" has become a full-time job.
The protest occurred in the former BLM-Antifa CHAZ/CHOP zone. The area has since been taken over by violent Antifa-affiliated transgender homeless people, who have launched several violent attacks on right-wing activists within the past month. Seattle Police sources warned that the trans homeless people have been stashing weapons around the park. The volatile situation remains ongoing, and the city has not yet addressed the violence.
The Post Millennial reached out to Mayor Wilson's Office for comment.
