Sources have confirmed that an officer was shot in the head near the Circus Circus Casino, and is now on life support at University Medical Center.

The source added that the officer was in a dispute with another suspect when a third person walked up behind the officer and shot him.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo reported that the officer was in critical condition at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

A suspect was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Another shooting incident in Las Vegas was at the Federal Courthouse, when officers fired back on a suspect who had fired at the courthouse.

Lombardo said that the courthouse was being guarded by police as well as federal agents, when a man approached and reached for his weapon. Officers opened fire.

The suspect was hit several times, though there is not yet on his condition, according to Fox 8 News

"What has occurred is utterly unacceptable," Lombardo said.

Governor Steven Sisolak took to Twitter, tweeting that “My Office has been notified that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently working two separate incidents in Las Vegas. The State is in contact with local law enforcement and continues to monitor the situation.”

This comes as protesters and police officers across the country have kneeled together in solidarity to recognize the unjust death of George Floyd, which appears to indicate that there is a separation between peaceful protesters and rioters who wish to do harm.

The police in Las Vegas said on Monday that 338 people have been arrested within the past three days due to the protests. They went on to say that suspects have been jailed despite coronavirus protocols.
