Ontario Liberals blast Doug Ford for his cherry cheesecake video

Del Duca's video came in response to Ford's releasing of a video showing his cherry cheesecake recipe, a dessert the premier playfully mentioned during one of his daily coronavirus press conferences.

Ontario Liberal Party Leader Steve Del Duca ripped into Doug Ford for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic across the province—specifically attacking the premier for his homemade cherry cheesecake video.

“It’s not time for cheesecakes and wishful thinking,” said Del Duca in a video posted to Twitter on Saturday.

Del Duca's video came in response to Ford's releasing of a video showing his cherry cheesecake recipe, a dessert the premier playfully mentioned during one of his coronavirus press conferences.

Del Duca's video shows him in his kitchen, mocking Ford for releasing the video, all while criticizing him for his handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

"Here I am, in my kitchen today. This is where me and my family spend an awful amount of time baking and cooking. And you know as well as I do that when you are baking and cooking, it’s important to measure what matters, those numbers really matter," says Del Duca.

"Let’s consider those numbers in Ontario’s long-term care centres today. As we speak, over 1,300 women and men living in those long-term care facilities have passed away because of COVID-19."
