Andrew Cuomo was run from office by power hungry progressives

"After a thorough review of the available evidence and applicable law, the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office has concluded that there is not a sufficient legal basis to bring criminal charges against former-Governor Andrew Cuomo based upon the allegations of unwanted physical contact made by Virginia Limmiatis," District Attorney Gregory Oakes said this week.

Cuomo was accused of enacting policies that killed elderly folks in nursing homes, and he wasn't charged for that either.

Now that all charges have been dropped, all cases dismissed, and he's been legally cleared of all wrongdoing, it's beginning to look like he was forced from office for the political expediency of progressives in his party far to the left of himself.

Cuomo was accused first by Lindsey Boylan, who was running for Manhattan Borough President at the time the accusations were in full swing. The New York State Attorney General used that opportunity to gin up other allegations against Cuomo, including from women who claimed he touched them oddly, or asked them out. I don't know who needs to hear this, but asking someone out isn't harassment.

Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul was Cuomo's replacement. She slid into office like a Twitter troll into dm's, with all the entitlement and assumed intimacy that entails. Her first orders of business were to increase restrictions on New Yorkers, enacting orders based on emergency powers that she did not have and have not been granted by the State Assembly and Senate. Hochul has increased mask mandates and when they were challenged, she got a different judge to put them back pending appeal.

Hochul has required vaccinations for all New York health care workers who are employed by the state, and when some of them refused, she had them fired, then tried to replace them with the National Guard when it turned out those essential workers she fired were actually essential. Funny how that works.

Hochul has apparently teamed up with AG James, a power hungry politically motivated attorney general who takes aim at the most high profile targets she can find then takes them down with laser precision, just as she did Cuomo. James had her own designs on the state seat in Albany, but she has withdrawn her gubernatorial bid in order to support Hochul.

Cuomo wasn't forced from office because of sexual harassment scandals, of which he has now been fully cleared, he was forced from office because others in his party wanted his power—and they got it.

Media and celebs alike praised Cuomo during the pandemic, saying that his philosophy inspired press conference gave them solace during the 2 weeks-turned 2 years to flatten the curve. He was awarded an International Emmy Award, whatever that is, which he was later forced to return. He was the golden boy of CNN, where he was regularly interviewed by his brother Chris Cuomo as the two shared both jokes about the pandemic, most notably in the form of a giant cotton swab, and the tension of sibling rivalry shone through.

Chris Cuomo, it was later revealed, advised his brother on how to handle the sexual harassment scandals, each one of which, in all of the some 12 cases, turned out to be, as the saying goes, a giant nothing burger. Chris Cuomo, too, lost his job due to his brother's sexual harassment scandals. Helping out his brother proved to be a career fatality.

Yet, it turns out, there was no criminal action, and Cuomo will face no accountability for the alleged crimes that James pushed so hard to evict him from his executive seat. He has, however, been held accountable, like some Icarus who flew too close to the sun of getting everything he ever wanted.

James and Hochul, however, should be held accountable for false claims that took a man from power and replaced him with a sycophantic authoritarian who believes her word is law, and when it isn't, gets courts to back her up. Hochul has no business running the state of New York. She wasn't elected, she wasn't wanted, and she's entirely worse for the state than her pretty-boy predecessor who, according to every facet of the justice system, has basically done no wrong.
