Official Black Lives Matter account tweets out anti-Semitic message

They write: "As Israel moves forward with the annexation if the West Bank, and mainstream British politics is gagged of the right to critique Zionism, and Israel's settler colonial pursuits, we loudly and clearly stand beside our Palestinian comrades. FREE PALESTINE."

Black Lives Matter began as an American movement to advocate against police brutality against black Americans. It has morphed into a Marxist movement that is more concerned with securing political power than injecting the current social and political spheres with equality and anti-racism.

Now, it has come out in favour of one minority group over another. The Jewish people of Israel have been fighting for their right to exist as a nation in the Middle East since the state was carved out of the region after World War II. It was meant to be a nation that would ensure the safety of the Jewish people, and give them a homeland where they would not be exterminated by tyrants who pursued their extinction as a direct result of racist hatred.

Black Lives Matter has been vocal about their intentions toward anti-racism and their goal of stamping out hate, only to use their own platform as a means to declare that the once stateless Jewish people do not deserve a home to call their own. This notion is what Israel has been fighting against since its inception.

The UK, US, and Canada support Israel because these nations remember not only their own sacrifices made during World War II, but the more than 6 million lives that were snuffed out by a ruthless dictator who was so sure that his own people were more deserving than others that he committed genocide on a massive scale.

In posting their intention to back Palestinian advancement into Israel, Black Lives Matter reveals that it is not a movement designed simply to liberate black people from systemic racism, but it interested in overturning nations and uprooting a once stateless people, leaving them again vulnerable to global forces of anti-Semitism.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism responded, saying:

"Black Lives Matter should aspire to be a movement against racism that unifies people and achieves lasting change, not a movement that spreads hatred and achieves lasting division. Educate yourselves. You cannot fight prejudice with prejudice."
