An Oregon man has been arrested on child sex abuse charges in connection to taking explicit photographs of children at a daycare.

Jamil Holbrook, 23, of Oregon City, has been accused of taking inappropriate photographs of children at a daycare center located in the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver, Washington. He is believed to be a babysitter working throughout the Portland Metro area, including for children who attended the daycare.

On Wednesday, Holbrook was extradited from Clackamas County Jail and was booked into Clark County Jail on charges that include first-degree child molestation, first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office issued a press release stating that detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) will be adding additional charges for sexual exploitation of a minor. All victims in this case were juvenile boys, authorities said.

"With the public's help, the Clark County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) has identified all the victims for whom there was evidence of involvement in this investigation. Parents need not contact SVU unless they have specific information or evidence involving juveniles and the suspect...We have confirmed that there are no female victims in this case," the press release stated.

"The SVU has also notified other law enforcement partners in Oregon and Washington based on their investigation about additional possible crimes occurring in their jurisdictions," the department said.

Holbrook's cousin, Tessa Riggs, told KATU News that she tried to warn officials about Holbrook last year, stating that something didn't feel right with him.

"I felt like I had a rock in my stomach, like I had to say something, I had to do something, or else what about the little girl that I was?" said Riggs. "I want the justice system to do what they do best and to fight for these victims."

The Clark County Sheriff's Office SVU initiated the investigation into Holbrook on March 28. The Special Victims Unit has notified additional law enforcement agencies in Washington and Oregon about the possibility of Holbrook committing crimes in their jurisdictions.

Police have asked the public for help in identifying any potential additional victims. If you or someone you know has received childcare services provided by Jamil Holbrook, or if you have any additional information that may be relevant to this investigation, please contact the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit tip line at (564) 397-2847, or email the Special Victims Unit supervisor, Detective Sergeant Jayson Camp, at jayson.camp@clark.wa.gov.
