According to a document obtained by OMG, Tren de Aragua has "established a presence in Brooklyn, Bronx, and Williamsburg, NY," with approximately 400 members residing in these areas. The information also revealed that TdA members in Denver "have been given a 'green light' to fire on or attack law enforcement," and that Homeland Security investigations in New York have received similar intelligence reports about the gang's activity.
The document highlights the gang’s use of advanced technology and surveillance techniques, which pose heightened risks to US military personnel and law enforcement. It emphasized that “Coordinated efforts between local, state, federal law enforcement, and the military are crucial” in order to counter the growing threats posed by the TdA.
Additionally, the document states, “Current global events, monetary gains, and criminal interests may drive this gang to target DoD facilities and personnel with targeted attacks, and vandalism with the intent [to] harm and cause fear.”
The release of this information comes as tensions escalate in New York City, where National Guardsmen have been recently stationed in subway stations. Venezuelan gang members, linked to the TdA, were also reportedly involved in the recent takeover of an Aurora, Colorado apartment complex.
A growing number of victims of the Venezuelan gang have attempted to sound the alarm over what could occur should a growing number of members enter the US. Earlier this year, immigration lawyer Ronaldo Vasquez did an interview with Turning Point USA's Frontlines where he said that Venezuelans in the US have warned that the people they ran from in their home country “are coming through the border.”
"These are not your average criminals," he warned. "These are people who are really coming to threaten the national security of this country ... They'll start inconspicuously, and before you know it, they own the city, because the power they have is tremendous."
