WATCH: Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson SLAM liberals for saying climate change is a bigger threat than skyrocketing crime

Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson slammed pundits on the left, as well as the corporate media on Monday night for downplaying spiking crime in liberal cities. Five children under the age of 18 have been shot and killed in Chicago so far in 2022.

Carlson said, "Violent crime in major cities is completely out of control. Thousands are dying, Americans dying this weekend in Chicago. For example, an eight year old girl was murdered."

Carlson continued, "But it's not just Chicago. It's nationwide. Ten of this country's biggest cities have set all time homicide records last year… including the dangerous seventies, it's worse now than it's ever been ever in American history. But on CNN that's not a problem at all. It was caused by their patrons of the Democratic party. So, of course they're angry at Fox News for bringing it up."

Carlson played a clip of CNN's "Reliable Sources with Brian Stelter" in which Stelter acknowledged crime is a problem, albeit with a caveat, "…but the way it's described on Fox, you'd be afraid to leave your house."

One of his guests called Fox’s coverage an "Instagram filter…you start with a real image and then you take the filter and you pump it up a thousand percent."

Another pundit on the CNN panel remarked, "The goal of this kind of coverage is to freak people out, to cause them to live in fear. Ironically, a lot of the fear-mongering is about the things that are not actually mortal threats. And then there is ignoring the things that are mortal threats, you know, COVID, isn't real and climate change isn't real…those things are a little bit scary or have been scarier at various points in the past couple of years."

Their view is that street crime isn't a big deal, and no one should fear it, but the amorphous threat of climate change, along with COVID, are reasons to cower in terror.

Carlson continued, "So the dumbest person on television, the mask and VAX lady who wants you to fear a climate. Is calling others fear, mongers. It's all kind of hilarious, but also sort of awful."

Candace Owens joined Carlson, saying, "It's like watching CNN offer commentary on CNN. I mean, it's ridiculous. Barring the fact that it is CNN and literally nobody is watching and the viewership is abysmal and almost negligible, the commentary here is awful... because it really speaks to what I've been talking about for the last three years, especially to black America."

"Liberals show up with their signs— to them as an extracurricular activity— 'Black Lives Matter,' 'defund the police,' 'let's get rid of everything in these inner cities and let's just let criminals run free.'"

"I always said of black America, you're going to be the one left picking up the pieces, it's going to be your neighborhoods that are destroyed. It's going to be your children that can not walk to school without fear, that there's going to be a gang member on the corner that may shoot them. It's going to be your babies that are sitting in cars and maybe shot by a stray bullet. We have seen the story over and over and over again. Where are the liberals? 'Oh, it's not a big deal, 25 percent more, who cares?'"

She slammed liberals for their elitism in thinking that climate change is a bigger issue that quality of life concerns regarding crime in America's biggest cities. She challenged liberals who claims climate change and COVID are graver threats to their lives than crime increases.

Tucker added, "I've often heard liberals say, 'Corona is killing mostly right-wing Republicans.' So that's fine. This violence surge is overwhelmingly killing the Democratic base, and speaking for myself, that's not fine. I don't care who they vote for, they're Americans they're dying. And you would think that the people representing their party would maybe care more than I do, but they care much less."
