Patrick Clancy, new wife Rachel Danis expecting their first child

Patrick Clancy is expecting his first child with his new wife Rachel Danis after his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy murdered their three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan. A trial that ran from July to September ended un a hung jury as her defense claimed she was not guilty by reason of insanity.

During an interview with 60 Minutes, the couple spoke with Ross Douthat in his first appearance on the long-running news magazine since leaving The New York Times. They told Douthat that they were planning on starting a family. Douthat joined CBS Morning to reveal that the couple is expecting their first child together.

The heart-wrenching interview, in which Clancy discussed the killings of his three children at the hands of his ex-wife, detailed his move to New York City from Duxbury, Mass., a place where he felt he could grieve anonymously. An avid runner who ran the Boston Marathon in honor of his children after they were killed, Clancy had joined a running club in New York. That's where he met fertility doctor Rachel Danis.

They were married this past April after meeting in January 2024, a year after his children were killed. "I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they're all your kids. And I can't wait to tell them about their brothers and sister," he told Douthat when asked what he would tell his new child about those who came before.

Clancy, through the grief of losing his children, has also been subject to conspiracy theorists claiming that he had something to do with the deaths of his children despite his ex-wife's own admissions that she killed them. During the interview, he commented on the attacks that have come for him since the deaths of his kids.

"It's deeply harmful to the legacy of my children. It is a huge distraction from what really matters here, which is perinatal mental health. And it's done real harm to real people, myself included but also others," Clancy said. "It's painful to see. And it makes it difficult to be in public and it's possible that some of those people after seeing lie after lie after lie, they start to believe it and that's what we're left with."
