The radical animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was slapped with an epic community note on X for its Thanksgiving post showing an image of turkeys with their heads bowed in prayer, sitting around a table preparing to dine on a roasted human.

The image designed by an X user who identifies as “The Vegan Rapper” was captioned, “We’re lucky turkeys would never do this to us—you don’t have to do it to them, either.”

Social media backlash to the post came swiftly.

X posted a Community Note on the post that stated, “Turkeys are not vegetarians. Turkeys eat mice, lizards, frogs, and just about anything they can fit in their mouth. If turkeys were larger or had the technological means to farm and eat humans, their current diet reveals they likely would.”

Users on the platform delighted in the note with one even writing, “Best community notes ever??”

Chaya Raichik creator of LibsofTikTok wrote on X, "Hall of fame community note. Not sure this can ever be topped."
