Poilievre draws MASSIVE crowd in Stoney Creek, pledges to end Liberal 'post-national ideology'

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre held a major campaign rally in Stoney Creek, Ontario, on Tuesday evening, drawing an estimated 4,500 supporters—a massive turnout for a Canadian election rally in any year.

Poilievre used the rally to take direct aim at the Liberal Party and its newly appointed leader and appointed prime minister, Mark Carney. “Donald Trump would like to have Mark Carney, a weak Liberal, in charge of our country,” he said, accusing Carney of having “foreign conflicts of interest” and challenging him to “come clean” about his holdings and “stop selling out our country.” Poilievre’s comments referenced statements made by President Donald Trump, wherein he said that Poilievre was “stupidly” no friend of his and said that he would rather work with a Liberal anyway.

He also reiterated his promise that no minister under him will be a part of the World Economic Forum.

The crowd erupted in cheers when Poilievre highlighted his tax cut plan, which includes waiving the goods and services tax (GST) for homebuyers purchasing new homes under $1.3 million and eliminating the carbon tax. He labeled Carney the “father of the carbon tax” and accused him of wanting it to be even higher than it already is.

Another moment that fired up supporters came when Poilievre addressed military policy, saying, “Our military will be guided by a warrior culture, not a woke culture.”

Immigration was also a key topic, as it has been for Poilievre for months. Poilievre reiterated his opposition to the Century Initiative, a plan to increase Canada’s population to 100 million by 2100. This initiative is one backed by Mark Wiseman, who serves as Carney’s council on Canada-US relations. “Our common sense Canada First approach rejects the Century Initiative,” Poilievre said. “We will get back to common sense immigration where we bring in only the number of people that we can absorb into our housing, our healthcare, and our jobs.”

The Conservative leader also spoke about national pride, vowing to restore patriotism and ending the erasure of Canadian history. “We’re going to stand up for our history and be proud of our country,” he said. “We’re going to end this post-national ideology the Liberals have imposed on our country.”

Poilievre spoke for about 50 minutes. The next federal election will be held on April 28.
