Portland Mayor and Commissioner of the Portland Police Bureau, Ted Wheeler, says he supports "peaceful demonstrations" happening in his city. This after "peaceful protestors" set fire to the Multnomah County building.

In a Tweet, Wheeler said he continued to support and encourage demonstrations calling for racial justice and police reform.

Yet this statement was the morning after rioters set the Multnomah County building ablaze.

Despite Wheeler's calls for community action toward an end to violence over the past two and a half months, nothing has been solved. Riots remain a nightly occurrence as arson, crime, and vandalism surge.

Portland has been the scene of violent protests for more than two and a half months. Federal and city buildings have been set on fire, vandalized and destroyed. Rule of law has been violated and the nightly rioters have called for the ousting of most public officials, including Wheeler, and terrorized innocent communities.

Wheeler is notorious for his failed pleas for peace. He gaslit the city of Portland while Antifa violence was on the rise. He also showed up at a protest that turned into a "struggle session" where he joined rioters and ended the night bathed in tear gas.
