President-elect Donald Trump has nominated his eldest son's ex-fiance Kimberly Guilfoyle to serve as the United States Ambassador to Greece. Guilfoyle, 55, an attorney and former Fox News host, has been a trusted ally and close friend to Trump for the past 20 years, the Daily Mail reported.

"Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad," Trump wrote on Trump Social Tuesday. "Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation."

Guilfoyle, who has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for Trump's campaigns, was assistant district attorney in San Francisco from 2000 to 2004. She studied international law and began her legal career as a prosecutor in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Before she was engaged to Donald Trump Jr., the president-elect's eldest son, which appears to have recently ended without a public announcement, Guilfoyle was married to current California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom from 2001 to 2005. She was the first lady of San Francisco during Newsom's first two terms as mayor and worked with Kamal Harris during her time as a prosecutor.

Guilfoyle and Don Jr., 46, started dating in 2018 and were engaged to be married in 2020. Kim served as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump during his 2020 campaign. Sources told the Daily Mail that Guilfoyle felt "blindsided" after photos emerged a few months ago of Don Jr. kissing Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, 38, at a restaurant. She continued to be photographed with Don Jr. throughout Trump's 2024 campaign but has not been spotted with him since Nov. 12, according to the paper.

A source familiar with the president-elect's decision to nominate Guilfoyle said: "There were a ton of people vying for this. It is one of the hottest posts in the world. Not just because it's an amazing place to live, but because it's a hotbed of activity with everything that is happening in Syria, throughout the Middle East, and the migrant crisis."

"He wants her to represent him on the world stage," the source added. "She studied international law and will be an amazing spokeswoman for Donald Trump. She'll be the Jackie O of the MAGA movement."

Kim Guilfoyle accepted the nomination on Tuesday evening, writing in a post on X: "President Trump's historic victory is bringing hope and optimism to the American people and to freedom-loving allies across the world. It was the democratic values born in Greece that helped shape the founding of America. And now, we have an opportunity to honor that history by bringing better days here at home and abroad."

"As ambassador," she continued, "I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity." Guilfoyle has one teen son from her second marriage with ex-husband Eric Villency.
