President Donald Trump released a video from the White House on Wednesday in which he spoke about Regeneron, Covid-19, and God. He said the he felt it was "a blessing in disguise" that he caught the virus.
Just seven days after his diagnosis with the Covid-19, Trump stood outdoors in the fresh air and gave an update on his condition. "Hi, perhaps you recognize me?" He joked. "It's your favorite president!"
President Trump praised the drug he was prescribed, Regeneron, and his time at Walter Reed Medical Center. "I spent four days there, I wasn't feeling so hot, and within a short period of time, they gave me Regeneron... and it was unbelievable! "
He also said he would like to see these medications and treatments be free for the public. "They call them therapeutics, but for me it wasn't therapeutic, it just made me better, I call that a cure," he says.
Trump said that he wants all Americans to have access to the same medicines that he had for his treatment. He said that if he hadn't caught it, and insisted on taking the experimental drug, they'd be "looking at it like any other drug."
"I want to get for you what I got, and I don't want to make you pay for it," he said, noting that it wasn't any Americans' fault that they got sick but that it was "China's fault." Trump said that the military would distribute Regeneron to American hospitals.
President Trump tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, Oct. 1, which led to him being transferred to Walter Reed Medical Hospital.
After only six days, the President recovered and even greeted his supporters who were outside the hospital. He then given the green light to go back to the White House on Monday, and issued this new message on Wednesday.
