MTG at TPUSA: Pride flags should not fly alongside the Stars and Stripes

"Because it shouldn’t be about what people do sexually that causes us to hang a flag somewhere."

Speaking at Turning Point USA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit on Sunday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed the venue’s display of the Pride flag alongside the Texas and US flags.

"You’re told you can’t say things like this and I’m going to say this. I just drove up to here at the Gaylord and I saw three flags, and one of the flags which was just as big as the other ones, our United States flag, the Texas flag, was the rainbow flag," Greene said, which was met with boos from the audience.

"The rainbow flag, as we all know, represents what we’re going through, Pride month, right now. Now, I’m going to tell you, and I’m saying this in the Gaylord and they might kick me out and never want me to come back, shame on them," Greene added.

"Because it shouldn’t be about what people do sexually that causes us to hang a flag somewhere. The only flag that should ever be hung should be our United States flag, it’s big and beautiful in the back of this room, and the state flag."

"Shame on the Gaylord," Greene said, jokingly telling the crowd she was surprised none of the attendees had "shimmied up that flagpole yet."

"We can take it together," one member of the crowd shouted.

"Don’t tempt me with a good time," Greene quipped.

Greene’s comments come just one day after President Biden draped a Pride flag on a South Lawn balcony alongside two American flags.

"We need to push back against the hundreds of callous and cynical bills and laws introduced in states, targeting transgender children terrifying families, and criminalizing doctors and nurses. These bills and laws attack the most basic values and freedoms," Biden said during an event toted as the largest ever Pride month event held at the White House.

First Lady Jill Biden claimed, "We want our kids just to be kids." She continued, "Running around and hey, eating too much sugar."
