He said his administration is "doing everything we can to advance equality for the LGBTQ community in our nation."
President Biden hosted the largest Pride event ever held at the White House on Saturday. With hundreds in attendance, he said, "I want to send a message to the entire community — especially to transgender children: You are loved. You are heard. You belong.”
In a speech on the South Lawn, the president claimed that bills aimed to protect children from sex change procedures before adulthood are an attack on the child's freedom.
"... families across the country facing excruciating decisions to relocate to a different state to protect their child from dangerous anti-LGBTQ laws," he said. "We need to push back against the hundreds of callous and cynical bills and laws introduced in states, targeting transgender children terrifying families, and criminalizing doctors and nurses. These bills and laws attack the most basic values and freedoms."
He said his administration is "doing everything we can to advance equality for the LGBTQ community in our nation, the entire nation." He continued, "We put protections for housing and employment, health care, education, and the justice system for combating dangerous and cruel practices of conversion therapy."
First Lady Jill Biden claimed, "We want our kids just to be kids." She continued, "Running around and hey eating too much sugar."
The event comes as parents around the country are pushing back on Pride agendas taking place at their local schools. In two separate instances, violence broke out between Armenian American parents and Antifa over curriculum and events hosted at their children's schools.
In Montgomery County, Maryland, Muslim parents clashed with pro-LGBTQ protestors for their right to religious freedom and the ability to opt their kids out of LGBTQ teachings presented by the school.
States around the country have passed laws to protect children from sex change operations. This week Louisiana became the 21st state to pass a bill banning cross-sex hormones and surgery for the treatment of gender dysphoria under the age of 18.
Meanwhile, California seeks to take away parental rights of parents who do not affirm their gender-questioning children, with the Golden State and others now becoming sanctuary states for child sex changes.
