A pro-Trump PAC offshoot from the company Sticker Mule has unveiled a sign on top of one of the tallest buildings in the upstate town of Amsterdam, New York that reads, "Vote for Trump." However, the city has accused the pro-Trump StickerPAC, of violating city code and they want it gone this week. The company has been threatened with fines if they do not comply.

According to a complaint from Amsterdam obtained by The Post Millennial, Sticker Mule CEO Anthony Constantino’s pro-Donald Trump group has been accused of violating Amsterdam City code for not getting a permit to put up the large sign, for having a sign was too high with lighting, and for its placement on top of a roof.

The complaint against the pro-Donald Trump group notes that the "newly constructed, nonconforming sign must be removed immediately within 48 hours" and that fines will come 30 days after the citation, up to $1,000 per day.

Although another city code section does not mention new construction, a regulation applying to nonconforming signs cites 60 days as the removal time: "Any noncomplying sign, either accessory or nonaccessory, including such features as prohibited in § 250-40A of this chapter, shall be modified by its owner to conform to be removed within 60 days after receipt by the owner of specific written notice from the Code Enforcement Officer to so comply."

Sticker Mule bought the abandoned FOWNES building in 2019 and has also invested heavily into the Upstate New York community, including the rebuilding of the local Veteran’s park and the renovation of several buildings in the area, according to a press release.

The local upstate New York outlet, the Daily Gazette, reported that Constantino's group had reached out to the city, trying to get approval for the sign. Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti, who is an Democrat-endorsed independent, responded when it was put on top of the abandoned FOWNES building. “They do know that they are in violation,” Cinquanti said. “They've been cited and we'll just let that play out as we would with any code violation.”

Roger Stone, a supporter of Donald Trump, posted about the sign, praising Sticker Mule.

Stone noted, "Visible by the more than 1 million cars per day that travel the New York State Thruway, the sign was designed by local artists to reflect the return of manufacturing to America and the triumph of the underdog against insurmountable adversity."

The FOWNES building has a history of manufacturing in the Upstate New York city, where workers produced gloves and other leather products dating back to 1903. However, it closed in 2010. Sticker Mule’s Co-Founder and CEO Anthony Constantino said, "The Fownes sign was a symbol of American manufacturing moving to China."

“We debated what to do with the Fownes sign for the last few years,” Constantino added. “We decided to replace it with a symbolic message that manufacturing can return to America and no one should fear supporting the man leading the charge to make it happen.”

On October 7, Sticker Mule is planning on an official lighting ceremony of the sign at 6 pm located at 26 Elk Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
