BREAKING: Protesters once again march in the streets of Toronto to end COVID-19 lockdowns, arrests made

Anti-lockdown protestors once again braved the bitter cold and risked arrest Saturday in opposition of the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns in Toronto.

Although a smaller crowd than recent weeks, protestors were no less determined. One protester called the Saturday demonstration "small but mighty!"

Police questioned park-goers in the lead-up to the day’s event, asking groups smaller than five, the maximum allowed under current restrictions, to move along on account of the stay-at home-order.

The police gathered at the park entrances to try and prevent protestors from entering the space as protestors insisted they were merely exercising their rights.

"You gotta move. You gotta exercise or you're in breech and you can get ticketed or arrested," one officer told the group of protesters.

"Just because you're media, you do have to obey the rules, you cannot be a group of five," another officer told the group, which had several reporters present in it.

When asked why he feels it’s important to keep coming out week after week, Alex G said, "I have family that died for this country, and we can’t exercise our right to protest, to dance, to eat? That’s what Canada’s known to be."

One protesters is heard asking as they are arrested, "do I have the right to exercise my rights?"

Unlike previous weeks, the "Essential Exercise March" through downtown did not have a police escort and had to remain on the sidewalk.

The protestors paid their weekly visit to Bell Media Headquarters to demand the network "report the truth."

They made their way back to Queen’s Park before quickly dispersing after what was the shortest anti-lockdown protest in weeks.

"We have to make our voices heard" one protestor could be heard saying.

Protesters have gathered in downtown Toronto for months now, demanding an end to COVID-19 lockdown mandates that are crippling the economy with rampant joblessness and business closures. Police have issued fines and made arrests frequently at the weekly demonstrations.
