BREAKING: Quebec man sentenced to five years and six months for burning hands of baby girl

Eric Michaud has received a sentence of 5 years and 6 months after intentionally burning the hands of a baby.

Éric Michaud has received a sentence of 5 years and 6 months after intentionally burning the hands of a baby, according to TVA Nouvelles.

The news was released by the Shawinigan courthouse on Thursday.

Michaud purposefully immersed the hands of a 15-month-old girl in hot oil from an oil fryer in July 2017.

The 39-year-old was convicted of aggravated assault and a jury came out with a unanimous decision.

Michaud now has 25 months to serve as he has already spent time behind bars.
