Singer Chappell Roan has reportedly been banned from performing at a Rio music festival after an incident involving an 11-year-old girl at a Sao Paulo hotel on Saturday.

In a post on social media, soccer player Jorginho criticized the singer, claiming she had sent her security guard after his step-daughter for allegedly harassing her while she was dining at the same hotel. The family was staying there ahead of Roan’s headlining performance at Lollapalooza Brazil

“I went through a very upsetting situation with my family earlier today,” the soccer player said, adding that his daughter had been excited to wake up early to see the singer.

“During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her,” he continued. “And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, she didn’t ask for anything. What happened next was completely disproportionate.”

He said a “large security guard” then yelled at his daughter and wife, accusing them of allowing her to “disrespect” and “harass” others.

“Honestly, I don’t know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment,” he added. “He even said he would file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears. I’ve lived with football, public exposure, and well-known people for many years, and I understand very well what respect and boundaries are. What happened there was not that.”

The child is reportedly the daughter of Jorginho’s wife, Catherine Harding, whom she shares with actor Jude Law, according to People.

Chappell Roan has previously faced backlash for her views on fan interactions, as she has complained about the amount of attention fans ask of her. At one point, she has called fan behavior “predatory.”

Following the incident, the mayor of Rio posted on social media a screenshot of the story and said, “As long as I'm in charge of our city - this young lady @ChappellRoan will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio!”
