"F*ck you and your Zionist handlers!"
It wasn't enough for these activists that Wiener supports a plethora of left-wing ideas to further embed gender ideology in policy, from the secret gender transition of children at schools to states having the power to remove children from their parents if those parents oppose their child's gender transition, his support for Israel made him entirely unacceptable to them.
"Scott, I think your legislation on trans, on trans issues and your legislation specifically protecting queers on the sex offender registry is fantastic, like I really applaud you for that, and I think you deserve to be here for that," an activist said, filming their interaction, as Wiener walked through the crowd at Delores Park.
As others saw him shouts of "what the f*ck" and "what the f*ck you genocidal piece of sh*t!" could be heard.
Former LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, who lost his house in the Palisades fire, said "Hey, Wiener guy! Remember when you called me a 'McBigot'? How does it feel now that the Frankenstein you created is coming for you? Every stupid communist learns this history lesson the hard way. Enjoy!"
The activist filming Wiener criticized his housing policy, which he said favored GIMBYs, or the "garden in my backyard" movement, which favors low density, single-family housing. Then he got into the real issue.
"And I think your policy on the genocide in Gaza is terrible!" the activist said, growing more heated as the crowd joined in with jeers and curses. “I think you do not belong here! I think you do not belong here!"
"We f*cking hate you," said the crowd, falling in behind Wiener as he continued to walk through the march. "You've been wonderful for trans people, and you've been terrible, you've been terrible, you've been terrible on Gaza. You do not belong here anymore Scott and it breaks my f*cking heart!"
"Everybody hates you," shouted another activist. An activist wearing tights, a sparkling gold hot pants, a balaclava and keffiyeh walked alongside Wiener shouting at him as trans and gay Pride flags flew in the background.
"It breaks my heart that someone who wrote your legislation for queers is so f*cking terrible on Gaza. Scott, do you have anything to say about Gaza? How could you do this to San Francisco? How could someone like you do this to San Francisco? Scott, say something, redeem yourself, do something!"
Wiener remained silent, his jacket folded over one arm, as he continued to be tormented by the very constituents he has sought to please. "F*ck you and your Zionist handlers!" Shouted another agitator.
"How could you do that?" The activist taunted, still filming. "How could you betray queers? How could you oppress people?"
Wiener is running to represent San Francisco in the House of Representatives and would be replacing outgoing Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi. In January, he appeared to change his position on Israel.
"I’ve stopped short of calling it genocide, but I can’t anymore. For many Jews, associating the word genocide with the Jewish state of Israel is deeply painful and frankly traumatic," Wiener said at the time. "But despite that pain and that trauma, we all have eyes… and we all have ears. To me, the Israeli government has tried to destroy Gaza and to push Palestinians out, and that qualifies as genocide."
His comments came after he was jeered and taunted during a campaign event for not saying that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza. Hamas terrorists stormed across the Gaza Israel border on October 7, 2023, massacring 1,200 people and taking over 200 hostages.
Wiener's campaign has been supported by J Street Action Fund, which is "pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy," and supports candidates who are critical of Israel's government while backing the right of Israel to exist. Pro-Gaza activists routinely call for its eradication.
"Scott Wiener will be a powerful voice in Congress for Americans who believe Israelis and Palestinians alike deserve freedom, safety and equal rights," said J Street’s vice president of political and digital strategy Tali DeGroot.
