REVEALED: Ilhan Omar's sister has ties to massive Feeding Our Future fraud scheme

A new report has revealed ties between Rep. Ilhan Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, and defendants in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, a massive case in Minnesota involving dozens of Somali defendants.

An investigation by the Daily Wire found that Noor incorporated one of her multiple businesses at a Lakeview, Minnesota home, with the woman who lives at the house, as well as the address, being described as “lynchpins tying together at least three Feeding Our Future convicts,” the outlet reported.

The company is Grit Partners Consulting, with Noor describing it as having “secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives,” and has consulted on projects backed by federal agencies such as the CDC and USAID. Grit Partners was incorporated at a home on Hyacinth Avenue.

The home is occupied by Mashah Ahmed Ali and his wife, Ister (also known as Ismahan) Ahmed Afraa. Afraa started a company alongside Hanna Marekegn called Sunrise Business Center. In 2022, Marekegn pleaded guilty to wire fraud in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme for stealing $7 million. Marekegn claimed to have been feeding 4,000 children per day; however, she used funds to buy a mansion for herself.

Afraa also incorporated the Sunshine Care Center MN, Inc., which had the same office address as Sunrise Business Center. The Hyacinth address was also listed as the incorporation address for the Diversity Childcare Center.

Afraa is also tied to Feeding Our Future ringleader Aimee Bock, who has been sentenced to 41 years in prison. Under data listed by the Minnesota Department of Health, Bock was listed as a point of contact for Sunshine Care Center LLC and the Diversity Childcare Center.

Bock said in state investigative documents that the unnamed head of the Sunshine Care Center had been brought to Feeding Our Future by Sahra Nur. Nur and Afraa reportedly have close ties, and Nur was sentenced to four years in prison.

Afraa was listed as the CEO of Aflah Property Inc, which operated out of Nur’s Fordham Court address. The Fordham address was listed in a $30,000 tax lien placed against Afraa. The home was also used for at least 17 different companies associated with Feeding Our Future.

Nur owned S & S Catering, which claimed to have made over eight million meals, however, the company faked invoices. The company was reimbursed over $12 million by the government.

Per Breitbart, Noor has reportedly moved back to Africa, running Grit Partners in Kenya. Noor’s husband, Mohamed Keynan, held a Minnesota Department of Human Services role before moving to Africa, and has since worked as chief of staff to then-Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre and policy advisor to then-President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.

Mashah Ahmed Ali, the owner of the Hyacinth home, told the Daily Wire that he has never heard of any of the companies registered to his wife or his home, saying, “There must be some sort of scam going on, I have no idea.” He added, “For the last 10 years I have a professional job, I have nothing to do with anything.”
