Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has filed paperwork to withdraw in the state of Arizona as a candidate in the presidential race ahead of an expected announcement of his dropping out on Friday.

It has been reported that Kennedy will be dropping out of the race with a 2 pm announcement on Friday and will possibly be endorsing GOP nominee Donald Trump. The move to file the paperwork has been seen as the first step for him formally pulling out of the race for the White House, according to the Telegraph.

It is believed that Kennedy may appear alongside Trump during a Friday rally in Phoenix after formally dropping out of the race to formally endorse Trump. On Thursday night Trump told reporters, “I have no idea if he’s going to endorse me. It’s possible we will be meeting tomorrow, and we’ll be discussing it.”

Kennedy has reportedly been seeking a deal to have a place in Trump's cabinet if he drops out and endorses the GOP nominee for the election. In a post, Kennedy announced that he would be addressing the nation about his campaign and its path forward.

A link for the event was posted alongside the announcement to sign up to watch and it takes you to a page which states, "Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will address the nation live on Friday about the present historical moment and his path forward in a livestreamed press conference."

Kennedy dropping out of the race could make a large impact on the presidential race, which is largely between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. An endorsement for Trump from the Kennedy camp could make a large difference as the election heads into the fall.
