Comedian Roseanne Barr challenged The View to hire her early on Thursday morning in a clip posted online from her podcast.

Barr posted the challenge in a video to X where she said Whoopi Goldberg has had an "old age nervous breakdown" as a result of "getting paid to lie" with "scriptwriters."

"Now you gotta have scriptwriters to lie. I can do this all day because it's true," Barr added in the video.

Barr and Goldberg have had their spats before. In 2023, after Goldberg had not been fired for saying the Holocaust was "not about race," Barr revealed how The View host encouraged Ted Danson's blackface routine and then betrayed him afterward.

Back in 2018, when Barr was fired from ABC for a post referring to a former Obama aide as "Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes," Barr later retweeted a photoshopped picture of Goldberg in a shirt that suggested former President Donald Trump should be assassinated.

Goldberg, on a segment of The View, said to the audience, "In her Twitter rant following the cancellation, [Roseanne] retweeted a false picture of me… Here is the truth about this shirt I was wearing at the Women's March in New York. It very clearly says, ‘And you thought I was a nasty woman before? Buckle up, Buttercup.'"

In the challenge to The View to hire her on, Barr said she just couldn't take the lies coming from the show anymore and would be able to just say things "off the top of [her] head" instead of having a script team do it for her.
