In a "fetish zone" at San Francisco Pride on Sunday, a man lay in water in an inflatable kiddie pool where he encouraged men and women to urinate on him. At one point, he got on his knees and took another man's member into his mouth and fellated it. This was in public, at the Pride event, for all to see. The area, for those 18 years and older, also featured spankings, whippings, and simulated sex acts.

While the sign out front specified entrants must be 18 plus, Savanah Hernandez reported from the event that there was no one checking IDs and anyone was allowed to wander in and see the freak flags fly.

Hernandez recorded one woman squat down over the man as he lay in a pool of urine and water and pee over his body. The bearded naked man showed no shame at all as he frolicked in the Yellow and Black Group Piss Pride Pool.

Tenet Media's Tayler Hansen recorded the fetish festivities at the pool as well. The bearded man and another man, both with their genitals covered, were in the yellowing water. As a man approached to urinate, the bearded man, on his knees, took the man's penis into his mouth as people walked by. The other man looked on.

Hansen, who spoke to police officers on Saturday to ask about the "public nudeness," again approached officers to find out what, exactly, was permitted. He explained to officers, graphically, what he saw and asked if that was legal.

"Literally right across the fence, you have a zone where people are giving each other blow jobs in public and pissing on each other in public. Is that legal? Is any enforcement going on there?" Hansen asked.

In response, officers said there were "different perimeters" for that event and that it was a "pick your battle day."

"Technically it's not a public event, right? You have to cross into it," an officer said. Officers said that because the event was fenced off on public property, that police were not asked to come in, and that it was permitted, "that's their event" and what happens inside "is handled the way they want to in there."

"It's a private event," an officer said, "They take out permits, they do all that, they have their security, everything. And if there's something that they need us for, for assaults of whatever, if something that's inappropriate, they'll ask us, but that's their event. As long its handled the way they want to in there we're not going to step in. But if someone's doing it on the corner over here and there's kids out here and there's complaints, we have a little bit more authority."

Because there was no violence, officers permitted the sexual gratification in public. While the acts were illegal, the fact that it was a "private event" meant that there would be no enforcement of the law.

"You literally have blow jobs in public, people urinating in other people's mouths in public, fully nude and it's just—it's ok in the state of California and the city of San Francisco," Hansen said.

In 2023, the San Francisco fetish event also took place, with the men being urinated on in kiddie pools at the Folsom Street Fair. State Senator Scott Wiener called it "one of the best days in San Francisco," and shared photos of himself in fetish wear.

The "Piss Pool" was organized by Yellow and Black, which describes itself euphemistically as "for folks who flag yellow and/or black." The group claims to have three dates where the pool will be available to the public, June 30 at the Pride Parade, at the Up Your Alley Street Fair on July 28, and at the Folsom Street Fair on September 29.

The group writes: "The pool is here for your convenience and enjoyment. Anyone can climb in, dressed any way they want. Climbing in = consent to be pissed on. Photo-shy?  Loaner hoods are available. Pee-shy?  Take your time; piss pigs are very patient. Not used to standing up?  Ask for a disposable 'female urination device'. Keep the piss in the pool and off the street. We discourage body contact during piss play (i.e. no 'sex', please). No shit. Have fun! Climbing in or pissing is free, of course! Folks taking pictures or video are encouraged to donate, to offset our costs. Thanks!"

They also ask for volunteers for set up and take down.
