The Secret Service is reportedly probing Elon Musk over a post he made following the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump Sunday. The attempt was foiled and the suspect arrested, and Musk wrote in a since-deleted response to post, "and no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala???"

The post had been seen by tens of millions of people before being deleted, including the Secret Service, Bloomberg reported. The outlet sent Freedom of Information Act requests to the Secret Service’s Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division, the Office of Protective Operations, and the Office of Investigations for communications and documents related to Musk’s Sunday post.

The agency responded to Bloomberg’s requests on Wednesday, saying that the requested records were being withheld because "disclosure could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings." Musk’s posts had been "compiled for law enforcement purposes."

The Secret Service’s FOIA division told the outlet that the Protective Intelligence Division could not release the records because of "enforcement proceedings."

Nate Herring, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, said the agency "is aware of the social media post made by Elon Musk." He added that "As a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence. We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees."

Bloomberg noted that most likely, Musk would get a visit from the Secret Service in which "he’ll have to prove he doesn’t pose an imminent threat to President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris," or he may also "never even hear from the Secret Service."

In posts on Monday, Musk explained his post and why he deleted it. "Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on X," he wrote.

"Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context and the delivery is plain text," he added in a follow-up.

Dean

So, the SS (how appropriate) doesn't investigate the journalists or the Demonrats who constantly demonize Trump and want him to be assassinated, but go after a conservative. No uneven application of the law here. No sir! Nothing to see here, move along.
