Georgia's Senator Kelly Loeffler announced that she would support appointing a special counsel to investigate alleged illegal activity on the part of the Biden family.

"The Department of Justice MUST do the right thing. Appoint a special counsel on Hunter Biden NOW!" Loeffler tweeted on Thursday.

According to the Epoch Times, Leoffler joins voices with President Trump and Senator and Chariman of the Judiciary Committee Lindsey Graham in calling for a special council to look into Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings, among other matters.

Graham had written previously:

“... the scope of the Delaware investigation is limited to tax fraud and will not be a thorough review of Hunter Biden’s extensive business dealings with foreign nations. The question for the country is: to what extent did Hunter Biden and his family have problematic business dealings with China, Russia, and other nations which could impact the Biden administration’s foreign policy?"

Hunter Biden did business in various countries such as China, Russia, and the Ukraine from 2009 until 2017, and the investigation alleges that many of these people had close ties to unfriendly foreign governments.

"To the extent that there’s an investigation, I think that it’s being handled responsibly and professionally currently within the department, and to this point I have not seen a reason to appoint a special counsel and I have no plan to do so before I leave," commented Attorney General William Barr when discussing the issue with the press.

This is happening amid worries that if Joe Biden steps into office on January 20th unchecked, he may use presidential powers to interfere with the investigation. A special council would help alleviate these worries somewhat, said the Epoch Times in their article.
