"Lackeys like Natalie Winters, Trump loyalist and an executive producer of Steve Bannon’s show, have been mocking chairman Jordan’s leadership of the committee openly."
House Delegate Stacey Plaskett lashed out at “Trump sycophants” in a congressional committee hearing, specifically targeting Natalie Winters and Steve Bannon’s show War Room for their criticisms that the House Judiciary Committee has failed to act in defense of the former president Donald Trump’s criminal trials.
Plaskett made her complaints on Wednesday during a hearing on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, a hearing scheduled by the select subcommittee to “examine the use of lawfare tactics to weaponize the rule of law.”
“We’re here today simply because Donald Trump’s sycophants have been taunting the members of this committee on the GOP side and judiciary Republicans for not doing anything tangible to defend Trump against our judicial system,” Plaskett stated.
“Lackeys like Natalie Winters, Trump loyalist and an executive producer of Steve Bannon’s show, have been mocking chairman Jordan’s leadership of the committee openly,” she continued.
Plaskett pointed to a tweet from the House Judiciary GOP that stated, “Imagine actually believing Michael Cohen,” which Winters, the co-host of War Room, reposted with a comment, “Imagine actually believing [the House Judiciary GOP] will do anything about it.” The post was part of continued frustration among Trump supporters for what they perceive as a lack of response from the GOP-led committee.
Additionally, Plaskett shared a clip from Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, who lamented the fact that the government is being weaponized against the presumptive GOP nominee, and how GOP leaders in the House are not doing anything about it.
“Viewers are sick and tired of hearings, they’re sick and tired of letters, they’re sick and tired of hearing complaints, they want action,” Bartiromo said in the clip. “President Trump is in a trial all day long, every day in New York City. Where is this committee of weaponization and what are you doing about it?”
“We’re losing the country,” Bartiromo added.
This altercation comes amid Trump’s 5th week being on trial in his falsified business records case in New York City. Supporters of the president continue to criticize the trial, arguing that it is unclear what the exact crime Trump is being charged with.
