A man failed a roadside sobriety test after he was pulled over by police while driving a golf cart on a residential street wearing only a bathrobe and slippers. The incident took place in Delta, BC and the man received a 90-day driving ban, according to CTV News.
Cris Leykauf, a spokesman for the Delta police said the vehicle was spotted by an officer heading north on 52nd St. in Tsawwassen at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

“The officer was curious, so he activated his emergency equipment and pulled the vehicle over to check for the driver's insurance, licence and sobriety as well,” she said. “When he approached the golf cart, he actually did detect the distinct odour of liquor from the driver and at that time he also noticed that the driver was wearing a bathrobe and slippers.”
After he failed the blow test with a roadside screening device, the man’s golf cart was impounded for 30 days. Police do not yet know how the driver came into possession of the golf cart.
Police said they’re reminding drivers to obey the rules while driving even though there are fewer cars out at the moment, due to social distancing, a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“No matter what type of vehicle you're driving, impaired driving is not something our officers have any tolerance for,” Leykauf said. “We need people to make responsible and sober decisions regarding when it's safe to drive and we definitely need them to stay home or use alternative transportation if they need to get anywhere if they've been drinking.”
Leykauf noted that Delta police have caught three impaired drivers in the past week.
