Teens riot in Florida after skate party cancelled due to lack of security, 29 arrested

Nearly 400 people, most of whom were teenagers, rioted in Florida on Saturday night after a planned after party was cancelled at a skating rink due to lack of security. Brawls broke out and the rioters ransacked local businesses, with some of them stealing merchandise. 29 people, with 23 of them being minors, were arrested as a result of the chaos.

The Hillsborough CountySheriff’s Officer told Fox News that the riot broke out on Saturday night after a party at a skating rink in Brandon, Florida was canceled. It was cancelled because the party planners had not hired extra security, per Astro Skate rules. Officers arrested 23 juveniles and six adults during the brawl. Most of those involved were teenagers.

The madness was captured on video with girls getting dragged by their hair, criminal acts of destruction, and multiple different fights. One teen kicked another into the window of a convenience store, shattering the glass storefront.The group went a convenience store and stole over $500 in wine bottles as well as an unknown amount of other merchandise.

A party at theAstro Skate rink was set to take place on Saturday and was then canceled during the evening when Astro Skate became aware that the extra security had not been hired. The 23 juveniles were taken to a detention center and the six adultswere booked into the Orient Road Jai. The six adults included 32-year-old Lekera Evans; 20-year-old Malik Carter; 21-year-old Yazelynn Ramos; 18-year-old Aliyah Alfonso;18-year-old Jadyn Sebro; and 18-year-old Fareed Carter.

"I am outraged by the violent and disruptive behavior that targeted hard-working people and businesses and created harm, fear and chaos in our community. Let me make this unequivocally clear: this violent and destructive behavior will never, under any circumstances, be tolerated in Hillsborough County," Sheriff Chad Chronister said.

"When responding to a scene as hectic as this, our deputies must account for potential danger from any direction. As you can see in the horrifying footage, these individuals had no regard for safety, our deputies had to step in to defuse the situation professionally and swiftly."
