Texas Governor Greg Abbott appeared on Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, where he discussed the ongoing migrant crisis and its impact on US communities.
Abbott took aim at the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of illegal border crossings, dismissing its claims that the reduction in border crossings was due to federal policies. Instead, he credited Texas’ state-led initiatives, claiming they have been instrumental in reducing illegal immigration by approximately 85 percent since last year.
He further argued that the Biden-Harris' administration’s solution to the border crisis is to allow migrants to be flown into the US and enter cities.

The Texas governor also speculated on the potential implications of a Kamala Harris presidency, should she win the upcoming election. Abbott highlighted Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign positions, which included decriminalizing border crossings, providing free healthcare to illegal immigrants, and dismantling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Abbott warned that her approach would lead to "the most destructive border policy ever."
“As bad as illegal immigration is already, it would be far worse under a Harris administration,” Abbott commented.
Abbott’s comments come as the Biden-Harris administration continues to face mounting criticism over its border policies. Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk commented on Abbott’s segment in a post on X, stating, “He’s 100% right. Democrats realized border images were bad PR, so now they just give them free airfare to anywhere they want to go. Treasonous.”
X owner Elon Musk responded to Kirk’s post, agreeing with Abbott’s stance by calling the administration’s actions “treason.”
Under the Biden administration’s controversial “parole program,” hundreds of thousands of migrants from the countries of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela have been permitted to fly into the US and enter over 45 major cities.
