Texas Attorney General Paxton promised that the "fight is not over" after the Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the Biden administration could give Border Patrol agents to go-ahead to cut down extra security the state government had put in place.

The Texas AG told Fox Digital in a statement, "The Supreme Court’s temporary order allows Biden to continue his illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America."

"The destruction of Texas’s border barriers will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe," Paxton said. "This fight is not over, and I look forward to defending our state’s sovereignty."

"The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line in Eagle Pass. Texas will not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence," Gov. Gregg Abbott posted on Tuesday after the ruling.

Supreme Court Justices came to a 5-4 decision on Monday after the Biden administration sent an emergency request to decide if the Texas state government could add extra border security with razor wire near Eagle Pass, a thoroughfare that has been a hotspot for illegal immigration on the US-Mexico border.

The two conservative members of the court who sided with the president were Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett. They joined the three more liberal justices to allow the federal government to resume removal of the razor wire that had started back in 2023.

An ongoing legal battle between state of Texas and the Biden administration has taken after the Texas AG sued the federal government in October for removing the razor wire that had been in place.

Reactions to the decision on Monday went viral online as one representative from Louisiana, Rep. Clay Higgins said that through his actions, Biden is "staging a civil war."
