Beer trucks are replacing ice cream trucks in the coronavirus era

Remember when you were a kid and the ice cream truck came jingling through your neighbourhood? The only thing that could possibly make it better is beer.

Remember when you were a kid and the ice cream truck came jingling through your neighbourhood? Now that concept has been brought back and updated for times we're in.

The Goose Island Brewing Company out of Chicago has put a van into action to roam the streets delivering suds to Chicagoans as needed, all they have to do is text the number on the side of the van, according to Chicago's WGN9.

In keeping with social distancing, the beer is simply delivered to one's home upon request. The van plays the classic ice cream truck melodies and offers a unique spin on the old concept of a "cold treat."

It’s pretty simple, simply call the phone number displayed on the van and it will show up on your block, beer in tow.

The latest beer available is a “Sunshine Tomorrow Blonde,” a nice hoppy blonde ale available now in growlers.

To show their support for health care workers, the Goose Island Brewing Co. will donate all of their profits from the growlers sold to the Chicago Community Covid Response Fund created by United Way of Metro Chicago, to support of the health and human services organizations in their city.

For those looking for a nice cool drink to wash those quarantine blues away, you can order online, either for curb-side delivery or pick from the Fulton Street Taproom.
