On Monday, Tim Pool announced that he had sent $10,000 to the legal defense fund set up for the 19-year-old Florida man charged with a felony for doing burnouts at an intersection that was painted with the LGBTQ colors.

"Here's a headline for the woke cult," Pool wrote on X. "I just sent $10k for homies legal defense. He was charged with a felony for burning out as he turned while driving over a cultist flag painting."

Dylan Brewer, 19, turned himself in in early February and was subsequently charged with felony criminal mischief over $1,000 and reckless driving.

City officials said that the incident took place on the evening of Sunday, February 4 at the intersection of Northeast 1st Street and Northeast 2nd Avenue.

Footage captured by a traffic camera shows a large black truck with a flag attached to the back revving its engine as it turns left, skidding around the corner and leaving a streak of burned rubber in its wake.

The Palm Beach County Human Rights Council has called on law enforcement to deem Brewer's actions a "hate crime."

"I think a big problem is with our judiciary who doesn't understand hate crimes are hate crimes, whether or not they fit the specific definition of the law," president and founder Rand Hoch said. "There needs to be consequences so people know if they commit crimes like this, they are going to jail, they are going to be fined; they are going to have to suffer from what they did."

The $16,000 crosswalk was created with funding from the PBCHRC and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation in 2021. The fundraiser on GiveSendGo has raised over $20,000 as of late Monday morning.

"This fund not only supports Brewer's legal defense but also champions the fundamental American values of freedom of expression and the right to a fair trial. By contributing, you stand for the principles that underpin our democracy, advocating for a balanced and just examination of the case. Your support not only aids Dylan Brewer but also underscores the importance of liberty and justice in our society," the fundraiser states.
