Tim Walz praised communism as system where 'everyone is the same and everyone shares'—Kamala Harris calls for 'equality of outcomes' where 'we all end up in the same place'

"It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares," Walz said in 1991. "The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month."

More documents have surfaced indicating just how much Democratic vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) adored Chinese communism, claiming that it offered a society where "everyone shares" and the state provides free clothing and food to its citizens.

Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken of “equality of outcomes” or “equal outcomes," and has toted an economic plan that includes price controls which have led people to label her plan "Kamunism."

Christopher F. Rufo posted on X: “Wow: The Free Beacon dug up this old news article in which Tim Walz defines 'communism' as a system in which 'everyone is the same and everyone shares.' He praised the CCP for providing 'food and housing' rations. A real-life communism respecter.”

"It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares," Walz said during a lesson on China's communist system in November 1991, according to The Washington Free Beacon. "The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month. They get food and housing."

Walz's remarks appeared in a 1991 article in Nebraska's Alliance Times-Herald. Walz was a social studies teacher in Nebraska at the time. The governor made 30 trips to China during this period of his life.

Walz's characterization of communism in China is similar to a recent observation that "one person's socialism is another person's neighborliness," the Free Beacon noted, adding that another article in the Nebraska Star-Herald from 1994 recalls how Walz was always “fascinated” by Communist China and recalled seeing footage of Mao Zedong being worshiped by the Chinese masses as a child.

Walz’s first trip to China came in the months following the Tiananmen Square massacre. Walz did not witness the atrocity but visited the site shortly after the students were killed by communist forces and he was apparently unmoved by the tragedy.

Five years later, he married Gwen Whipple on the anniversary of the government crackdown as his wife noted that Walz “wanted to have a date he’ll always remember,” according to the Wall Street Journal. The couple honeymooned in China.

Walz wrote home about "being treated like a king" in China. When he returned to the United States, he couldn’t contain his praise for the Chinese communists.

"No matter how long I live, I'll never be treated that well again," he told the Times-Herald. "They gave me more gifts than I could bring home. It was an excellent experience."

Shad, a former student of Walz who accompanied him on a trip to China said Walz was a “true believer” in Mao. “The snitch hotline in Minnesota is straight out of CCP. Tim Walz is a very bright guy. None of this by accident,” the student noted.

For 24 years, Walz served in the National Guard. Since he joined in 1981 and “retired” in 2005, many of his trips to China – a scheduled country that Americans in uniform are not supposed to be visiting – occurred while he was a member of the US military.

On Friday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said he is demanding an investigation into Walz’s “longstanding connections to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entities and officials.” Shad says he has contributed a report to Cormer’s office.
