Update: An arrest has been made in the death of Teresa Santos.
“Police continue to appeal for any information about the arrested man and the victim,” a Monday news release states. “They also urge any witnesses to come forward.”
40-year-old Damien Allred of Toronto has been arrested in connection with Santos’ death.

Toronto police have identified the victim of a suspicious death. The police are treating the death as a homicide.
Police were sent to 24 Shaw Street to check on a residence, where Teresa Santos, 75, was found dead. A homicide investigation is now under way.
Santos was last seen on August 8, though it is not know whether or not she lived in the residence where her body was found.
