A transgender Texas man has been arrested on terrorism charges for allegedly planning to carry out a mass casualty attack against police officers, according to the FBI. Seth "Andrea" Gregori, 22, was taken into custody on Monday and has been booked into the Nueces County jail without bail. FBI Houston said Gregori planned to carry out a massacre "similar to the 2016 Dallas ambush," where a sniper opened fire on Dallas police, killing five officers and injuring others.

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) arrested Gregori on an FBI warrant at 9:04 am on February 24, the agency said in a press release. According to an arrest affidavit, the FBI received a tip from an informant indicating that Gregori had an AR-15 platform pistol and intended to kill "white cops" with the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The informant told the FBI that they had exchanged six months of messages with Gregori, which indicated that the suspect intended to execute an attack on CCPD in the manner of a "Dallas-style" operation. The FBI was given 71 pages of text messages that included evidence showing Gregori's ambush attack plan to kill police officers in Corpus Christi. The texts also featured 19 images from the Dallas crime scene and of Micah Xavier Johnson, the man who carried out the attack.

Gregori reportedly befriended several police officers before his arrest, according to court documents. He reportedly bragged to the informant that he was "stalking" cops in order to gain their trust. At least one police officer told investigating officers that he was familiar with Gregori, explaining that Gregori was always friendly to him.

According to the arrest affidavit, Gregori intended to avoid injuring bystanders, claiming that he was a sharpshooter who could exclusively strike law enforcement. Gregori stated in the text messages that his sole objective was to kill officers on the CCPD. However, he intended to only target "white" cops, leaving the "black and Mexican cops alone."

Gregori has been charged with making terrorist threats against police and criminal trespassing. He was booked into jail as a female named "Andrea," records show.
