Trans-identified male professional wrestler Gabbi Tuft is reportedly moving toward a return to the ring.

According to the Daily Mail, Tuft had a "great conversation" with Tony Khan, the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) CEO, on Valentine’s Day. AEW is the second largest American professional wrestling company behind the WWE.

Tuft told the outlet, "he’s a hell of a guy, and I can tell you very, very clearly, mother is coming." Tuft added that the wrestler could not comment on whether there have been talks on the matter since then.

If signed, Tuft would become the first person to compete in a major North American wrestling promotion before and after a gender transition.

Tuft was previously known as Tyler Reks, and had a four-year run with the WWE. Tuft was released from the promotion in 2012. While performing as Reks, Tuft was billed as being 6 foot 2 and around 250 lbs. Tuft has reportedly lost 100 lbs since then.

Tuft’s last match took place in 2013 at a Pro Wrestling Syndicate event, and has not been in a sanctioned match since then.

"It's just a feeling, knowing where your path is, and knowing that my story is not complete, just like Cody [Rhodes] is finishing his story right now, my story feels like it's not complete until I do this," Tufts said.

"I didn't transition to come back to wrestling and go dominate a women's division. That's not why I'm doing it. I'm doing this because I'm something totally different."

Tuft added, "And I know but I am the best possible version of this human sitting before you that I can be, and that I have something so unique to offer the world beyond just being a trans woman."

Tuft has been making teaser posts to Instagram, with one from March 18 showing Tuft’s face with the word "mother" written on the wrestler’s forehead. "Tick tock," the post states, with hashtags for WWE and AEW being included.
