JD Vance endorses Kenny Cody for Tennessee State House

Kenny Cody, the GOP candidate for Tennessee’s state House representing the 11th District and senior contributor to Human Events, has gained the endorsement of Vice President JD Vance. Cody will be facing off against Democrat Sheila McMahan in November’s election. 

Vance said, “My friend Kenny Cody will make a fantastic Representative for Tennessee's 11th State House District. Kenny knows the working-class issues of Cocke, Jefferson, and Hamblen counties, and as a conservative voice for his home, he will ensure the people of the 11th District are properly heard in Nashville. On November 3rd, I'm encouraging all of Tennessee's 11th State House District to vote for Kenny Cody for State Representative, and inject some Smoky Mountain conservatism into the halls of the Tennessee State Capitol. He has my complete endorsement.”

Cody said he was honored and “humbled” to have received Vance’s endorsement in the race. “Vice President Vance is a steadfast leader, the future of our party, and understands our heartland: Appalachia. He has never forgotten where he came from, and neither have I. The families of Cocke, Jefferson, and Hamblen counties work hard, love their neighbors, and expect their representative to fight for them, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Nashville,” Cody said. 

Cody won the August primary with around 70 percent of the vote. Leading up to the primary, Cody had received the endorsement of President Donald Trump, who said, “a very successful school teacher, Civic Leader, Conservative Journalist and Activist, Kenny has dedicated his life to serving his Community.”
