Trudeau continues to be Canada's preferred prime minister: Poll

Trudeau saw a drop in favourability of just 0.1 percent over four weeks, while O'Toole's favourability rose by 1.6 percent.

A poll conducted by Nanos shows that Canada's preferred prime minister continues to be Justin Trudeau.

The poll, released on Friday, shows Trudeau with a strong 10-point lead over official opposition leader Erin O'Toole, who poll at 30.9 percent and 20.9 percent, respectively.

That represents a drop of just 0.1 percent over four weeks for Trudeau, while O'Toole's favourability rose by 1.6 percent.

In third sits New Democrat leader Jagmeet Singh, who experienced a 0.9 percent drop over four weeks to 18.8 percent.

Fourth sits Maxime Bernier at 6.2 percent, while Bloc Leader Blanchet and Green Leader Kuttner make up 5 percent, combined.

Numbers for general support in the ballots shows basically what was seen in the last election, with support at the ballots between the Liberals and Conservatives practically equal.

30.6 percent said that they would vote Liberal, a drop of 2.7 percent over four weeks, while 29 percent said they would support the Conservatives, showing a four-week drop of 1.4 percent

The New Democrats gained 1.6 percent over four weeks to 21.4 percent, while the Bloc and the Green party sit at 6.2 percent and 6.1 percent, respectively.

Maxime Bernier's People's Party of Canada also saw a four-week rise of one percent, resting now at 5.7 percent.

The Nanos survey was a random telephone survey of 1,106 Canadians, which is accurate 3.0 percentage points, plus or minus, 19 times out of 20.
