The Trudeau Liberals are yet to explain how they spent $600 billion of taxpayer money during the pandemic, according to the Globe and Mail.

Despite this, the Trudeau government is asking Parliament to approve many more billions in public spending after the prime minister's throne speech.

Eight months after the 2020-21 fiscal year, the government still has not provided their accounting. Governments are usually expected to give detailed explanations about where and how they spent tax dollars.

Under Trudeau, the deficit has increased from  $39 billion to $354 billion. This is largely due to pandemic spending. Trudeau's finance minister has said that she will provide an updated budget this fall.

Largely due to Trudeau's spending, the cost of living in Canada is spinning out of control. Inflation is currently at 4.7 percent, the highest level since 2003.

The Trudeau government has pledged $78 billion in new spending over the course of the next five years. This is in addition to the $101 billion that the prime minister has already committed in his previous budget.

Despite this, Trudeau claimed on the campaign trail that when he thinks "about the biggest, most important economic policy this government, if re-elected, would move forward. You’ll forgive me if I don’t think about monetary policy."
