The Trudeau Liberal MP for Milton has accused the Shadow Finance Minister Pierre Poilievre of "fueling the type of action" reported at Minister McKenna's office.
Adam van Koeverden, who was elected in 2019, asked the CBC interviewer whether he could "point out that the type of baseless allegations that Mr. Poilievre keeps making about our government."
It's "one of the things that is fueling the type of action that we saw at Minister McKenna's office today," he added. "The baseless allegations and the rhetoric that there's always a scandal is one of the things that is fueling the difficulties that people are experiencing."
"I would just ask for more truth," pleaded the former Olympian whose government promised to balance the budget in 2015.
Van Koeverden's misty-eyed whelps did not sit happily with the Conservative's resident skin-shredder Pierre Poilievre, who called Van Koeverden's claims "disgusting."
"Our job is to hold this government to account," continued Poilievre. "They shovelled half-a-billion dollars to an organization that had paid the prime minister's family a half-million dollars."
"We're not going to be intimidated into silence," concluded Poilievre.
Van Koeverden—who at this point now understood the consequences of Pierre prodding—began to double-down, calling the Conservative's claims about Trudeau's cronyism "baseless."
Poilievre asked Van Koeverden to name an example of these hollow accusation; Van Koeverden (needless to say) tried to portage around the offer.
Whatever the case, it seems unlikely that the Liberal Party will again recruit Van Koeverden to defend the antics of his Party's executive.
