The Trump administration is halting $210 million in federal funding to Princeton University while investigating potential antisemitism on its campus. This comes as the administration has been cracking down on antisemitism on college campuses across America. Princeton was one of the universities where antisemitic, pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel protests took place after October 7, 2023. Students and faculty engaged in demonstrations on campus, including hunger strikes.

"Princeton has perpetuated racist and antisemitic policies,” a Trump administration official told Daily Caller White House reporter Reagan Reese. The official added that the suspension of funds does not mean that the investigation into the school is over.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration warned around 60 colleges and universities that they could be losing federal funding over how the schools handled alleged discrimination as well as harassment of Jewish students on campus amid the chaotic Gaza encampment protests that popped up across the country last year in response to the Israel-Hamas war.

The investigation Princeton comes after the editor-in-chief at Campus Reform, Zachary Marschall, filed a complaint to with the Trump administration's Department of Educations about how Princeton handles antisemitism on campus. He cited chants of "intifada" as well as “Brick by brick, wall by wall, apartheid has got to fall" being stated at protest happening on campus just weeks after the Oct. 7 attack on Oct. 25, 2023.

”The violent words of these protesters completely disregard the atrocities Hamas has already committed and promises to commit in the future against the people of Israel, including raping, murdering, and kidnapping civilians," Marschall wrote in the complaint.

This also comes after the Trump administration yanked $400 million from Columbia and is also reviewing $9 billion in funding that is going to Harvard for similar allegations of antisemitism.
