Trump has tapped Daniel P. Driscoll for Secretary of the Army, Adam Boehler for Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, and Jared Isaacman for Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
President-elect Donald Trump issued a slew of nominations on Wednesday, including for positions at NASA and the Army. Peter Navarro was tapped on Wednesday to serve as his Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing.
Among those nominated was Daniel P. Driscoll for Secretary of the Army. Trump wrote that "as a former Soldier, Investor, and Political Advisor, Dan brings a powerful combination of experiences to serve as a disruptor and change agent." Driscoll completed Army Ranger school, and was deployed with the 10th Mountain Division as a Cavalry Scout Platoon Leader in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his service, Driscoll most recently served as Senior Advisor to Vice President JD Vance. "Dan will be a fearless and relentless fighter for America’s Soldiers and America First agenda.
Trump also announced that Adam Boehler was selected to serve as his Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, being given the personal rank of ambassador. " Adam worked for me as a Lead Negotiator on the Abraham Accords team. He has negotiated with some of the toughest people in the World, including the Taliban, but Adam knows that NO ONE is tougher than the United States of America, at least when President Trump is its Leader. Adam will work tirelessly to bring our Great American Citizens HOME," Trump wrote.
Boehler thanked Trump "for the opportunity and honor to serve you and our great nation," and said "there is nothing more important than bringing Americans home. Under Donald Trump’s leadership, there will finally be action and consequences. We will BRING THEM HOME."
Also nominated was Jared Isaacman for Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), who Trump said will "drive NASA’s mission of discovery and inspiration, paving the way for groundbreaking achievements in Space science, technology, and exploration." Trump noted that Isaacman co-founded and served as CEO of defense aerospace company Draken International "for over a decade, supporting the US Department of Defense, and our Allies."
"Jared’s passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era."
"I am honored to receive President Trump’s nomination to serve as the next Administrator of NASA. Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history," Isaacman wrote.
