Trump calls for Keystone XL Pipeline company to come back to the US and 'get it built' after Biden canceled it

President Donald Trump has called for the company that was building the Keystone XL Pipeline to return to the United States and "get it built — NOW!" The project was stopped by the Biden administration on his first day in office, costing thousands of workers in Canada and the US their jobs.

Trump posted on Truth Social, "Our Country’s doing really well, and today, I was just thinking, that the company building the Keystone XL Pipeline that was viciously jettisoned by the incompetent Biden Administration should come back to America, and get it built — NOW!"


"I know they were treated very badly by Sleepy Joe Biden, but the Trump Administration is very different — Easy approvals, almost immediate start! If not them, perhaps another Pipeline Company. We want the Keystone XL Pipeline built!" Trump added.

The project of the Keystone XL Pipeline started in 2010 and has been a political football since it began, and was halted by former President Barack Obama before the project was finished. Trump started it back up again in his first term, but the line was stopped again by former President Joe Biden during his first day in office by signing an executive order.

The company that was in charge of building the pipeline, TC Energy, was supposed to construct the pipeline going from Alberta to states in the nation such as Illinois and Texas, according to Fox News. TC Energy gave up on the project following Biden's executive orders. The pipeline was supposed to be finished in early 2023, but it has yet to be completed and would create tens of thousands of new jobs. Additionally, the pipeline would allow for an additional 830,000 barrels of oil to the US from Canada.

The premier of Alberta, Canada, Danielle Smith, has said that she wants to work with the Trump administration to finish the project.
