A tribute for deceased Corey Comperatore was placed in the bleachers at the second Bulter, Pennsylvania rally for Donald Trump ahead of the event on Saturday. GOP nominee Donald Trump is set to speak at the same location where he was shot in a failed assassination attempt this past July.

Among those attending the event will be the widow and children of Corey Comperatore, the local firefighter who was killed during the shooting while shielding his family. Comperatore’s firefighter uniform has reportedly been placed in the stands where he lost his life on July 13, according to journalist Vanessa Broussard.

In addition to Comperatore’s family, other individuals who were injured in the shooting, as well as attendees who acted as first responders during the previous rally, will also be present tonight, according to the Trump campaign.

Trump’s son Eric Trump and his wife, RNC co-chair Lara Trump, will attend the rally, as will Trump’s running mate, JD Vance. Billionaire Elon Musk, who endorsed Trump shortly after the shooting, stated that he will "be there to support" Trump as he takes the stage.

The rally is scheduled for 5 PM ET. Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe told WPXI Channel 11 News that the county expects as many as 60,000 people to attend.

At Trump's last rally in Butler, the Secret Service (USSS) faced widespread criticism for security failures that allowed Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin, to fire shots at Trump. In response, the USSS has announced increased security measures for this event. Personnel will be stationed both inside and outside the rally's secure perimeter, including on the rooftop where Crooks fired eight rounds, according to CBS News. Federal and local law enforcement agencies have been preparing for the event for about two weeks.

"Since the attempted assassination of former President Trump on July 13, the U.S. Secret Service has made comprehensive changes and enhancements to our communications capabilities, resourcing, and protective operations," said USSS spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi in a statement. "Today, the former President is receiving heightened protection and we take the responsibility to ensure his safety and security very seriously."

Guglielmi added that for the October 5 event in Butler, USSS is coordinating closely with Pennsylvania State Police and local law enforcement, while also "leveraging other federal security resources to expand personnel and technology."
