Donald Trump is opening one of his luxury resorts to linemen in Florida to house the electricians as they work to put the power back on in the region after the destruction of Hurricane Milton this week. This comes right after the state and others in the southeastern US were hit with Hurricane Helene just days ago.

Trump is hosting the linemen at the Trump National Doral Miami resort in South Florida, according the Daily Caller. The GOP nominee's son, Eric Trump, wrote of the effort in a Wednesday social media post, "Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at National Doral Miami as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Milton!"

He added, "You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms - they are the best in Florida! Be safe!" The hurricane made landfall on Wednesday evening, and at least four people have been killed. Over 3 million homes and businesses have lost power due to the storm. Leading up to the storm, around 50 of the 67 counties in Florida were under orders to evacuate.

The linemen staying at Trump's hotel in Florida will join thousands of others from all over the country who are preparing to go to the Sunshine state to restore electricity to those without it. The GOP nominee's opponent in the 2024 race, Kamala Harris, has taken issue with how Florida Govenor Ron DeSantis did not take her phone calls, and accused him of playing "political games" amid the disaster.

Following the accusation, President Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday, "The Governor of Florida has been cooperative. He’s said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday. I said 'I know you’re doing a great job.'"
